Capacity Building
Nonprofit
organizations are created to respond to a need. Those
needs continually grow in intensity and complexity. The
pool of resources available to Nonprofits to meet those
needs does not grow in proportion to the demand. The
nonprofit's capacity to do more with less can be increased
by:
 |
Creating more efficient work processes. |
 |
Effective sharing of resources within the
organization. |
 |
Merging or sharing of resources with nonprofits having
similar missions. |
 |
Realizing that most needs are systemic in their
creation and that a systemic response would be more
effective in meeting the need – thus, networking with
those organizations that would enable such a response. |
 |
Going
out of existence for the sake of a better response to
the need by another organization. |
 |
Acknowledging new and different ways of fulfilling the
Mission of the organization. |
For my
client, building capacity means building effectiveness.
